My name is Tori, and I am a 28-year-old AFAA certified fitness instructor in Primary Group Fitness and Kickboxing. I received my certifications in 2009 and have been teaching ever since! I also have a Master of Public Health degree, which has taught me worlds about the state of the population’s health in this country, how to study it, and how to enact change.

My lifelong dream was always to become a doctor, and I couldn’t be more excited that I’m finally starting down that path. (If you are interested in hearing more about my medical school endeavors, click here). I want to continue to have a venue for exercise and to never give up this part of myself.  I post a range of things related to health and fitness, in addition to some occasional recipes, and post 10 minute video exercise routines every so often for you to do at home (or to take ideas with to the gym!).

It was my passion for teaching group fitness classes, devotion to nutritious eating, and drive for learning as much as possible about health and wellness that led me to create this blog. In documenting the things I’ve learned over the years, I hope you will gain from it as well.

Classes I’ve taught in the past:

  • Cardio Pump
  • Glutes N’ Guts
  • Beach Body Bootcamp
  • Sculpt
  • Extreme Power Sculpt (really, this is the same as sculpt)
  • Core Fusion
  • Kickboxing
  • Turbokick
  • Pilates
  • Pilates-Boxing
  • Hip-Hop
  • Body Pump
  • Yoga

Gyms I’ve taught in:

  • Powerhouse Gym, Shrewsbury, MO
  • Washington University in St. Louis, St. Louis, MO
  • Saint Louis University, St. Louis, MO

I’m currently teaching at:

  • Pura Vida Urban Fitness, Brooklyn, NY
