Holidays can be a hectic and sometimes stressful time. We often don’t stop to appreciate the moment, and get caught up in planning and entertaining. But on a major holiday it’s important to take the time to enjoy life- soak in what’s around you and celebrate!
Today I’m bringing you a typical warmup from my Core Fusion classes. It’s primarily a Yoga flow sequence, but is a great way to limber and loosen up your muscles prior to any type of workout (think: relaxing movement). It’s also one of my favorites.
There is a lot to be said for Yoga. There is so much variation in what can be done with the class that you can always find one that will work for you (Bikram, Hatha, Vinyasa, Power, etc). If you don’t want to spend a whole hour doing it, you will still get a benefit from just ten minutes.
Warming up will reduce your risk of injury, promote circulation, and help you gain more muscle control. Getting your body ready for exercise will also allow you to push yourself for a longer period of time. This video is a great warm up for Pilates, Yoga, or Core Fusion types of exercises, but will still provide benefit for other workouts as well.
If you use the audio on this, you’ll see the music is super relaxing. This can be great on a busy stressful day when you need to slow down for a minute.
